MONITORING YOUR PROGRESS

One good way to ensure your progress is to monitor your improvement efforts regularly. Make sure that your evaluation focus on positive accomplishments. To keep yourself on track. you can keep a daily record in diary or journal form of your successes and the use of your time. Take note of the approaches you have tried- which ones seem to work and which ones do not. This type of record can be a valuable source of information on your progress.

Another way to monitor your progress is to use graphs or charts. For instance, if you are seeking to reduce the time you
spend in meetings, you might chart the average amount of time you currently spend. This will be your baseline. Then set a target objective. Each week, you should keep a record of all the time you spend in meetings and post this number to the graph. Eventually, the line on the graph should go downward.

You can also use this approach to track your progress in reducing the number of drop in visitors in your office. To establish a baseline, keep a record of the average number of drop in visitors you receive each week. If your improvement efforts are successful, the graph should show a decreasing number of visitors.

If you are truly successful in using your time better, you should notice a number of changes. An analysis of job results should indicate improvement. You should be getting positive feedback in performance. There should be fewer thongs on your list of undone things. You should feel more on top of situations, more in control of your job.

Whatever methods you use to evaluate your progress, the important thing is to evaluate it regularly. Any step in the right direction should be a source of encouragement. You should feel good about the progress you make, no matter how small that progress is. Consistent, small improvements will lead you to long term results you desire.
